A
Big Thank You from Us
Last Saturday's Fall Festival of Wines Tasting was bigger
than we ever imagined. And we cannot say thank you enough times to
everyone who came over to The Savvy Wine Cellar tasted and purchased the
incredible wines that our "guest pourers" poured for us.
When we planned this event, we hoped for a good turnout. But we
never anticipated how many guests would actually come through the
doors. And so we say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you"
for coming out to our first Fall Festival of Wines. For months now
Dale and I have been saying that our customers are the best and Saturday
was the icing on the cake. It was incredible.
And it also was a learning experience for us. Next time we host an
event like this, we'll make sure that the tasting stations are spread out
a little farther apart to minimize your waiting time and we'll have
glasses and tasting notes ready for you as soon as you come through the
door. Not only do we want folks to taste our terrific wines, we
want the experience to be easy and fun! Thanks again for your
incredible patience and your support of The Savvy Wine Cellar!
This Week at The Tasting Bar
This week it's all about helping you plan for Thanksgiving Day dinner
(and the leftovers, of course). This week we'll be tasting wines
that will pair with your turkey and trimmings. We'll be pouring a German
Riesling, a Chardonnay from France, a Pinot Noir, a Petite Sirah and a
Zinfandel from California. These are delightful wines that are all
on sale at our Tasting Bar price. Make sure you drop in Thursday or
Friday from 5-8 p.m. or Saturday from 1-5 p.m. One more thing...no guest pourers
this week...just Allison and Dale! Check out what we're pouring:
Rudolf Mϋller
Rabbit Riesling 2008, Germany
Pichon Vin de Pays
D'OC, Chardonnay, 2008, France
Cartlidge &
Browne Pinot Noir, 2007, California
Le Lapin Petite
Sirah, NV, California
Castlebank Old Vines
Zinfandel, 2007, California

Savvy Cooking Recipe of the Week
What do you do with your leftover turkey? Do you make soup or do
you prepare a rerun of Thanksgiving dinner? Or, maybe you just
don't know what to do with it and so you make lots of turkey
sandwiches. Well here's a little dish that we've been making at our
house for years. Turkey Tetrazzini combines leftover turkey with
mushrooms and angel hair pasta in a dreamy cream sauce. It's easy to make
and even the most finicky eaters love it. And it's something a little
different than the traditional Day-After-Thanksgiving Dinner.
Here's
the link.
And here are the
wines we are recommending to enjoy along with it:
Le Lapin Petite
Sirah, NV, California
Cartlidge &
Browne Pinot Noir, 2007, California
Chateau St. Jean
Chardonnay, 2007, California

How Savvy Are You?
Due to "computer issues" we have been unable to update these on
our web site. Hopefully, we'll have this problem solved by the end
of this week and you can check on your progress. We apologize for
this.
Hope to see you in the shop this week. Thanks for your support of
The Savvy Wine Cellar. We appreciate your interest and your business.
CinCin!
