Wine Tasting 101 Returns
Just a quick reminder that our popular class, Wine Tasting 101, is back.  This class is very low key and structured in a similar way to the home wine tastings we did when we lived in Granger, Indiana.  The class will be presented by our staffer, Neil Miller, on Wednesday, August 26.  It begins at 7 and ends at 8 p.m. We'll talk about colors, aromas, structure, balance and finish of four different wines and provide you with the materials to identify the wines' qualities.  It's a lot of fun and a very relaxed learning experience.  If you missed it the last time here's your chance to hang out with us for an hour and learn a little more about how to taste wine.  To register click here.

"Pick of the Week"
This week's pick, 2007 Gallo Family Sonoma Reserve Chardonnay, marries the rich full flavors of ripe apple, pear, and pineapple fruits with a hint of vanilla. The mouth-feel is rich with juicy flavors of peach and mango brightened by lively acidity along with toasty, buttery notes followed by a crisp, clean finish. Stop by the shop Thursday through Saturday and taste a bit of this terrific wine.

12% Tuesday
We've had several customers question us about our 12% Tuesday and what it means.  Here's how it works.  Every Tuesday we select a region (like California, Burgundy or Germany) or a varietal (like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling) and discount the wines from that selected region or varietal 12%.  For example, next week on Tuesday, August 25, if you buy any of our Rosés or Proseccos, you'll receive a 12% discount on them.  It doesn't matter if you purchase one bottle or 101, you'll get them at 12% off.  And the following week, we'll be putting that 12% discount to another varietal or region.  So, make sure that you check our newsletter and web site every week so you'll be certain not to miss one of the best deals in Onondaga County!
