"Pick of the Week"
This week's pick was selected for us by our associate Neil Miller.
It is the 2005 Allegrini Palazzo della Torre. A blend of the Corvina,
Veronese, Rondinella and Sangiovese grapes, this big Italian wine hails
from the Veneto region of Italy. Wild berry perfume...dark, jammy,
chocolate and spice flavors... No wonder Neil loves it!
Normally priced at $20.99, for this week only, we've reduced the price to
$18.49. Next time you're in the shop, check out Neil's pick and take one
home with you. You won't be sorry!
CORKS, CORKS, CORKS
Are you hoarding your wine bottle corks? Well, we still need
them. So, please, next time you're planning a trip to The Savvy
Wine Cellar put all those wine corks you've been saving in a little (or
large) bag and bring them with you. Then you can dump them right in
with what we've already collected! Thanks.
12% Tuesday
Next week's 12% Tuesday value is French white wine. Stop by from
10a.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, and save big on every French white
wine in the shop. We have many white Burgundy, Sancerre and
Bordeaux wines that are delightfully delicious and will pair with many
summer foods. If you've always wanted to try French wines but
weren't sure where to begin, here's the place to start... And you can
save 12% on your selection.
And speaking of French wines...
Upcoming Events
July 14-7 to 8 p.m.:
"You Think You Don't Know French Wines But You Really Do..."
Neil Miller explains varietals, regions and styles of the beautiful wines
from France. Spaces are filling up quickly, so make sure to register
now!
July 29-7 to 8 p.m.:
Forrest Harpur, wine educator for Southern Wine and Spirits, has planned
a class all about tiny bubbles. If you attended his "How to Taste
Wine Like the Pros," you know you won't want to miss this one. Register
now.
Congratulations
The Savvy Wine Cellar would like to extend our congratulations to Chris
Cesta, Chef/Owner of the Inn Between Restaurant. Chris was recently
named Chef of the Year for 2009 by the Syracuse Chapter of the American
Culinary Federation. Congratulations Chris!
