Calling All Wine Corks!

What are YOU doing this Halloween?  Are you throwing a Monsters' Ball at your home?  Perhaps you're attending a Graveyard Bash and you find yourself in need of a little something dark and mysterious or scarily sparkling.  No matter what your plans are, The Savvy Wine Cellar has just what you need to make this Halloween ghoulishly great! This week at The Tasting Bar we have perfectly scary, but tasty, wines to treat you and your friends.  We'll be tasting wines with eerie names and creepy labels...wines that are so good they'll make you howl at the moon! We even have a wine that disappears as soon as we get it into the shop.  So hurry over tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-5 p.m. AND if you show up in your Halloween costume, we'll give you a 15% discount (instead of our normal 10%) on a case (mixed or full) of wine. (Already discounted Tasting Bar wines and other sale wines are not eligible to receive this additional discount.)

Check out we'd like to put into your Halloween bag:
Leitz Dragonstone Riesling, 2008, Germany, (Rheingau)
Spellbound Chardonnay, 2006, California (Lodi)
Brujeria Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Tempranillo Blend, 2007, Australia (S. Australia)
Bogle Vineyards Phantom, Petite Syrah, Old Vine Zinfandel, Old Vine Mourvedre, 2007, CA (Lodi)
Bleasdale Vineyards, The Red Brute Sparkling Shiraz, NV, Australia (Langhorne Creek)

Savvy Recipe of the Week
Whether you're hosting or attending a party this year, Halloween is HUGE and a great time to let the ghoulish side of your creativity out of the bag.  To help you out, this week we have three Halloween party food recipes to share with you from Foodnetwork.com.  Carrot "Fingers" with Ranch Dressing will be a hit with adults or kids. The Cheese Ball Goblin recipe is simple and easy to make and, delicious! Lastly, Paula Dean's Snake Bites will please kids as well as adults.  Click here and look for Spooky Party Foods from Foodnetwork.com.

And the wines we're suggesting to pair with your Spooky Party Foods are right from this week's Tasting Bar wines.  Any of the five we're tasting this week (see above: The Tasting Bar) will be perfect!
